Description
This 1909 Temple Building Toronto postcard showcases one of the city’s most prominent early skyscrapers. The black-and-white image highlights the Temple Building’s Romanesque Revival architecture, complete with flag-topped towers, alongside the Toronto city crest in color.
Postmarked September 3, 1909 from Toronto, Ontario, the card includes a handwritten message on the front and a 1¢ Edward VII green stamp on the reverse. The Temple Building, completed in 1896, stood as Toronto’s tallest building until 1905 and was a hub for the fraternal organization the Independent Order of Foresters.
