Description
This 1906 Toronto Armouries postcard showcases the striking red-brick and stone architecture of one of Toronto’s most iconic military buildings of the early 20th century. The image captures the imposing facade, complete with towers and arched windows, against a soft pastel sky.
Part of the Canadian Souvenir Post Card series, this example is postmarked September 19, 1906, Toronto, Ontario, and addressed to Toledo, Ohio, with a 1¢ Edward VII green stamp. The Toronto Armouries, completed in 1894 and demolished in the 1960s, was once home to the Queen’s Own Rifles of Canada and the Royal Grenadiers.
